Alliance, NE – TRIDAKO Energy Systems, Inc. of Alliance, NE, announced today that they have formed a distribution partnership with Nebraska Machinery Company (NMC) based in Omaha, Nebraska. NMC is one of the largest Caterpillar dealership in the United States. Terms of agreement between the two companies are being finalized.
Nearly two years after the company tested it’s PowerCube APU designs, the product was debuted nationally in March of 2008 at the Mid America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky. The PowerCube product gained quick recognition among Caterpillar corporate executives and brand loyal customers.
NMC, a Caterpillar Dealer has been supplying TRIDAKO Energy Systems with the 2-cylinder Caterpillar engines used in manufacturing the PowerCube auxiliary power unit (APU). The new sales and marketing partnership provides both companies with growth opportunities in the rapidly expanding truck APU market. Both Nebraska companies consider the relationship a good fit; with NMC’s established distribution channels in the trucking industry; and TRIDAKO’s expertise in building quality automotive HVAC products.
Nebraska Machinery Company will provide PowerCube™ marketing, sales, parts and service for both PowerCube auxiliary power unit models manufactured by the company. NMC will expand the marketing footprint for PowerCube which will extend through Caterpillar Dealerships in the US and Canada and also making product immediately available to hundreds of Original Equipment (OEM) truck sales and service locations.
TRIDAKO Energy Systems, Vice President of Marketing Mark Felker says the company’s partnership with NMC is the vital component in their marketing strategy. “As a design driven company we are privileged to work with a sales organization like NMC. This partnership integrates each company’s strengths and is key for us to quickly position our APU product, and commercialize the PowerCube™ in the US and Canada.”
Dan Koch, President of Perrin Manufacturing in Alliance, established TRIDAKO Energy Systems nearly two years ago to facilitate growth opportunities into new markets. Both companies occupy the new Perrin Manufacturing facility on the West edge of Alliance where a 10,000 square foot expansion is expected to be completed by November 1.
WHAT IS AN APU?
An Auxiliary Power Unit is a self-contained generator set powered by a small diesel engine, which mounts onto a semi truck. Auxiliary power units provide secondary power, heating and air conditioning inside a truck cab to reduce fuel expense of truck idling, and harmful carbon emissions. TRIDAKO’s PowerCube™ proprietary APU design is the most robust Btu output option available and currently utilizes two engine configurations, including the 2-cylinder Caterpillar diesel engine.
